Mantua Maker
In 1700s the Mantua, a style of gown, became very popular. Elizabeth Mills of Benhall was Mistress of this Trade.
F.J. Flatman (1896-1916)
Frederick John Flatman was born in Sternfield and died in France on 18th March 1916 aged just 20 years old.

1955 Visit by the Queen Mother
In 1955 the Queen Mother was making a visit to Sternfield House so local residents from Benhall & Sternfield took the opportunity to greet her.
1958 Visit by Princess Margaret
In June 1958 Princess Margaret, beginning a weekend stay in Sternfield, met a Benhall Centenarian.
