Review from June 2024 Ebb & Flow, Parish Magazine:

After seven years, on Sunday 2nd June, Benhall Open Gardens made a much welcome return. Fourteen wonderful, and very varied gardens, enthralled the one hundred and seventy visitors.

After such a long gap, there was a steep learning curve for the organisers and the event was…centred on Benhall Green. Teas and cakes were served on the Green, alongside the well-stocked plant stall doing a brisk business.

It would be lovely to write about each of the gardens…but just a mention for two. Eve and Derek’s delightful courtyard garden which is planted with a limited palette of purple, green and white in memory of the women’s suffrage movement; and Hannah and Jo’s remarkable transformation of a garden that is packed with so much interest and variety that defies its relatively modest size.

Hannah & Jo’s remarkable garden. It had the tidiest garden potting shed!

Angela’s garden full of bright coloured roses and beautiful dahlias.

Review (continued):

Our visitors spoke glowingly of all the gardens.

The event was in aid of both St. Elizabeth Hospice and Benhall Church. £1,900 was raised of which £1,000 has been donated to the Hospice. The busy plant stall…took a staggering £440.

Garden no.1

Garden no.13

A glorious day to view such beautiful gardens. All the owners had worked so hard for months prior to the Open Day.
