The History Group started this project because there hadn’t been any detailed research or amendments made to the lists and memorials that exist at our two village churches for 100 years. Today we can research on the internet with the online Commonwealth War Graves website and are able to update our village records accordingly.
Therefore, any man born or who worked in Benhall and Sternfield and who died in or shortly after WWI will now be commemorated with 4 pages of dedicated information in a book. After the book has been completed, the information will be made available on our website and reprints can be made available on request.
Three copies of the book will be printed initially, one for each of our churches and one for the History Group whose copy will be on display at the 80th anniversary of the Benhall & Sternfield Flower Show this year – please see our Events Calendar for details of this show.
